Longjing ShrimpA highly productive land, Zhejiang Province produces many famous local products and has a colorful culinary culture. After long years's evolution, the Zhejiang cooking has developed into the Hanghzou, Ningbo, Shaoxing, and Wenzhou cooking styles. The Hangzhou cooking style that appeared during the Southern Song Dynasty now features more than 240 recipes. The well-known dishes include West Lake Sour Fish, Mrs. Song's Fish Soup, Su Dongpo-Style Pork. Beggar's Chicken, and Longjing Shrimp. Both Ningbo and Wenzhou are port cities, and their dishes are characterized by seafood.

The Shaoxing cooking style is known for its steamed and wine-pickled dishes. There are a great variety of snacks in Zhejiang, of which dumpling soup from Huzhou, crisp cakes from Jinhua, shrimp dumplings from Zhoushan, pickled eggs from Pinghu, and the Ten-Scenes Pastry from Tiantai are well known.
