The population of the region is 23.44 million. The inhabitants include the people of Han, and 49 minority ethnic groups of Mogolians, Huis, Manchus, Daurs, Owenks, Olunchuns and others. The Mongolians, the main nationality in the region and people of other minorities have created a rich and colorful minority's custom and way of life.
