Located in northern Qiaotou Village, Shuanlin Temple is 97 kilometers away from Taiyuan. The construction of the temple started in the early years of the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) and in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) most buildings were rebuilt. They contain 2,050 color statues from the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, for which the temple enjoys a high reputation in China's history of art. |
