Green Vine Studio![]() The Green Vine Studio, situated in the Dacheng Hutong in Shaoxing's Qianguan Lane, was the residence of Xu Wei, a Ming-dynasty writer, calligrapher and painter. It was originally known as "Pomegranate Flower Studio". In front of the studio lies a square pond with water that never dries or overflows its bank. A green vine, growing beside the pond with a low balustrade, sets off the unadorned simplicity of the studio and adds a touch of tranquility to the place. Outside the studio is a typical literati garden which consists of a bamboo grove, an artificial mountain and a winding path. |
