Seventenn-Span Bridge

There are quite a few stone bridges in the Summer Palace. They are all masterpieces in bridge construction. More famous of these are the 17-span Bridge.

The Jade Belt Bridge and the Binfeng Bridge. The 17-Span Bridge links the Nanhu Isle with the eastern dyke of the Kunming Lake. Among Chinese gardens this is the largest bridge, 150 meters in length and 8 meters in width.

The capitals of balustrades on both sides of the bridge are carved with stone lions of different expressions. The bridge itself looks like a huge rainbow flying across the lake.
