Baotu Spring, Jinan


The Baotu Spring is found south of Ximen Bridge, Jinan. It had bee known variously as "Baoliu" and "Lanquan" before it assumed its present name during the Song Dynasty. The Baotu Spring is at the top of a list 0 famous springs in Jinan, known as the "City of Springs".

During its heyday, water was seen foamed and gushing out of a subterranean limestone cave, looking like a pot of boiling water. The pool of the spring assumes the shape of a square, anal the water is of pure and sweet quality. Around the pool sit such famed buildings as the Luoyuan Hall, Banbi Corridor, Waterside Chamber, and Guanlan Pavilion.
