The Xishuangbanna Tropical Gardens


The Xishuangbanna Tropical Gardens arc on a gourd-shaped peninsula Jutting m into the Luosuo River, a tributary of the Lancang River, in Xishuangbanna,Yunnan Province.

The gardens occupy an area of 900 hectares and have introduced some 3,000 kinds of tropical plants from other parts of the country or around the world.

They boast a dozen special districts and gardens, including a tropical fruit tree resource district an orchid resource district, a palm district, an oil-bearing plain district, a borneo camphor and spice plant district, a perfume district, a medicinal herb district, a bamboo district arid a rare and endangrrcd plant migration protection district. Also the gardens are listed as a national tourism area based on their unique trees and flowers, tropical scenery, rich customs and rich scientific content.
