The Huaxiya Highland Botanical Gardens


In the Longci area between the Southern Sichuan Plain and the Qinhai-Tibet Plateau, 30 kilometers northwest of Dujiangyan City in Sichuan Province, the gardens collect and cultivate 600 species of endangered plants, including azalea, Tibetan long leaf pine and summer wlntersweet.

The azalea garden covers an area of 40 hectares and collects 40,000 azaleas of 200 species. There are three azalea districts at different sea levels with a combined area of 60 hectares. The garden is the largest research center for azaleas in the country.
